Khondkar Siddique-e-Rabbani is a Bangladeshi Biomedical physicist. He is a notable person for developing the Focused Impedance Measurement method. He was awarded by Bangladesh Academy of Sciences. He has awarded for his role to physical sciences in Bangladesh. Rabbani is the founding president of the Department of Biomedical Physics and Technology. It is a department at the Dhaka University.
Khondkar Siddique-e-Rabbani completed his bachelor’s from Dhaka University in 1970. He completed postgraduate from Islamabad University in 1972. Then he earned his Ph.D. from the University of Southampton in 1978. After that he joined as a faculty affiliate of the Department of Physics at Dhaka University. He became the head of the post graduate Department of Biomedical Physics and Technology.
He has been working to recover the situation of efficiently poor people of Bangladesh. He has been innovating low cost and effortlessly available technologies. He had three major innovations quoted by Bangladesh Academy of Sciences. One is simple and low cost way to wipe out diarrheal germs in water. Solar radiation is using for this.
The second is Surface water free of Arsenic to drink. The last is a localized electrical impedance method. This is known as Focused Impedance Method. It is having possible to study, identify or characterize medical situations including stomach, lung and vascular functions. Distribution of F-latency system can give inside profile of transfer speed of motor nerve fibers in a nerve trunk. For that there is no clinically appropriate method survived before.
He is working in leadership position on his current research. These are solar energy for drinking water sterilization and water heating. He is researching also on Biomedical Physics and Engineering. His Instrumentation research of medical, educational and industrial is very effective.
Khondkar Siddique-e-Rabbani was born on 9th May in 1950. He has awarded by BAS Gold Medal Award for Physical Sciences in 1990. He also got the National Fellowship of the Asiatic Society of Bangladesh in 1995. In 2007, Khondkar Siddique-e-Rabbani achieved UGC Award.
