Asif Hossain Khan is a Bangladeshi shooter. Bangladesh asserted the first gold medal of Commonwealth Games in shooting by Asif Hossain Khan. He was 15 year old on that time. Khan also set a new record of Commonwealth Games in the men’s teen-meter air rifle individual singles final.
Asif Hossain Khan started his shooting career at Pabna Shooting Club. He always favored athletics to shooting. He grasped inter-club shooting contest in 1999 and 2000. Khan pierced the athletics training program of BKSP (Bangladesh Krira Shiksha Pratisthan). It is the national sports institute of Bangladesh. When his coach asked him to join the newly organized shooting team of BKSP his career plans changed. Khan agreed to his coach’s proposal further as a task than interest. After that he insisted that his coaches at BKSP assisted him to build his winning approach.
Khan took part Bangladesh Games and achieved a bronze medal in the 2002. His achievement was then sainted by the national scouts. On that time he was called at the site of that year Commonwealth Games. Khan was shocked for his calling at the camp and found it still tougher there. But he involved each with his talent and hard labor. Later he was selected for the national team.
Asif Hossain Khan won the gold medal at 2002 Commonwealth Games in ten meters Air Rifle. After that he was successive SAF games by winning gold in the same event in the 2004. He was harshly crushed by the local police of Bangladesh on 2nd October in 2006. He was injuring both of his arms.
After that Khan won two gold medals on the opening day of 4th South Asian Shooting Championship. It was held on 22nd November in 2008 at Islamabad in Pakistan. He was the first owner of the individual gold in ten meters Air Rifle event.
