Pritilata Waddedar was a Bengali revolutionary nationalist. After finishing her education in Chittagong and Dhaka, she focused Bethune College in Kolkata. Pritilata graduated in philosophy with distinction there.

Pritilata Waddedar joined an innovative group headed by Surya Sen. She was led a team of fifteen innovative in 1932 attack. They attacked on the Pahartali European Club, which had a sign board that read “Dogs and Indians not allowed”. The revolutionary’s burns downed the club and were later trapped by the British police. To shun getting arrested, she inspired cyanide and died in 23rd September in 1932.

Pritilata Waddedar was born in a middle class Vaidya Brahmin family on 5th May in 1911. Dhalghat village in Patiya upazila of Chittagong now in Bangladesh is her birth land. Jagabandhu Waddedar was her father, a clerk in the Chittagong City. Pratibhamayi Devi was her mother, a housewife. The couple had six children. Rani was her nickname. Her father was a title conferred to a forebear of the family who originally had the family.

She stood first among all students who emerged in that year’s examination from the Dhaka Board. On that time she was a candied of intermediate examinations. She participated in different social activities as a student in Eden College. She joined the group Sree Sangha. It was headed by Leela Nag under the sign Dipali Sangha.

The trust considers her to be an inspiration of light for women. There is a road in Chittagong has been named after Pritilata Waddedar Road. A bronze statue of this fighter lady was vertically in front of the Pahartali Railway School. It is neighboring to the historical European Club.
